FlexRides started in Fredericton with a simple idea: riders and drivers should both have a say in what a ride costs.
Why we built FlexRides
In most ride apps, an algorithm sets the price and both sides take it or leave it. Prices can jump with demand, and drivers are sent trips that may not be worth their time.
FlexRides works differently. We suggest a fair price for each trip, and then riders and drivers agree on the final fare between them. Riders see the price before anyone drives to them. Drivers choose the trips that make sense and keep all their tips.
We are starting in Fredericton, New Brunswick, so we can get it right for one city, with local drivers and local support, before growing.
